R Sudarshanam

Began his career in music, by composing music to the beautiful lyrics written by Vayalar “Chitrapaurnamiyil innale Lajjavathiyaayi vannavale” in the year 1967; this being one of the four songs composed for the movie ‘Kudumbam’. Again in 1968 – another Vayalar – Sudarshanam pair hit was the song “Indhulekha indrasadassile nrithalola” from the movie ‘Thirichadi’.

The legendary song ‘kanna…karumainira kanna’ sung by P. Susheela was also composed by him. He was the permanent music director at AVM Studios. It was in those days, that P. Susheela and S. Janaki wherein Chennai and Sudharshanam identified their talents and made them ‘Staff Artists’ at AVM. Very recently he left for the heavenly abode.
